NEWS: GPD Win Mini combined with the powerful Ryzen 7 8840U APU and 7″ FHD 120Hz IPS display for enhanced performance and portability.
GPD is an Asian company that specializes in making mini gaming devices, planning to make an “update” version for 2024, with the new Ryzen 8000 series processors from AMD.
The latest GPD Win Mini that was just released is already in two different versions, which means you can choose between the Ryzen 7 8840U (8 cores Zen4) and the Ryzen 5 8640U processor. This translates to faster delivery speed, greater horsepower, or any of the essential tasks. AMD’s XDNA AI-core technology integration is anticipated to boost the performance, with the primary focus being on computing tasks.
The new model turns out to have one major superiority – display. It now has a 7-inch 1080p LTPS screen and it can refresh at 120 Hz and supports FreeSync Premium and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) also the cover is based on Gorilla Glass 6.
The OCuLink port, which supported external GPUs, seems to be gone from the model for 2024. Lastly, it simply needs USB4 connections.
Another major feature is the device offers better simulation of PS3 games which targets a frame rate of 60 FPS. It comes with the support of AVX-512 instructions so we can give better financial tips.
The Win Mini 2024 will be launched via a crowdfunding campaign, starting from $879 for its base configuration with the Ryzen 7 8840U processor, and 32 GB of RAM with options for either 512GB or 2TB of SSD storage.
