How to turn off Cortana in Windows 10?

How to turn Off Cortana from Windows 10 temporarily ?

Step 1:  Go to taskbar and Click on the Cortana. 

Step 2:  Now click on the Setting button.

Step 3: now find out the option ‘Hey Cortana’.

Step 5: Click on the bar and it will be turned off and in reverse click on the same bar if you want to enable it again.

7. Make a click on the turn off speech services and typing suggestions.

How to Disable Cortana Permanently in Windows 10?

Step 1: Make right click on the start menu and then click on the ‘’Run

You can go with the shortcut too:  Click consequently “Windows + R”.

Step 2: Now type- regedit, and then press Enter button

Step 3: An User Account Control (UAC) window appears in front of you then click Yes.

Step 4: Now  HKEY_Local_Machine > SOFTWARE > Policies > Microsoft >Windows

Step 5 : Make a right click on the windows directory, now click on the New then Key and now rename it with ‘Windows Search’.

Step 6: Do right click on the windows search and select New and then DWORD (32-bit) Value, and then name it Allow Cortana.

Step 7: Now make double click on the Allow Cortana and set value to 0.

Step 8: Now close the Registry editor and restart your computer to save changes.

Tips to turn off Cortana For windows 10 Pro and Enterprise with Group Policy Editor

• Have to open the Run dialog box first.
• Now simply type gpedit.msc and click the enter button.
• A User Account Control (UAC) window appears in front of you then click Yes.
• Then navigate Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Search.
• You will see on the right side of your window the Allow Cortana setting and now double click on it.
• Now select Disabled radial, and then click OK.

Now close the policy editor and restart your computer to save changes.
