How to Link your Windows 10 product key to Microsoft account
If you are going to link your product key to your Microsoft account, first of all, you have to make sure that your Windows 10 is activated properly or not. If you find your Windows 10 is not activated then you can go with this article link to activate it.
Now, we assume that your Windows 10 is activated properly. Now, we can go forward with the process of linking product keys to the Microsoft account. Here are the steps which you have to follow:
Note- After linking the product key to your Microsoft account, will change your account from local to Microsoft.
Step 1. Go to the Settings Option.
Step2. Now, click on the Account.
Step 3. Click on Your Info.
Step 4. Now, click on the link – ‘Sign in with your Microsoft account instead’. Complete the process and then click on the sign-in button.
Step 4. Now, type your current password and then click on the Next button.
Step 5. Now, you will see a new tab with two link options one is, Setup a Pin and the second one is Skip this Step.
Step 6. You can set a pin from here or you can click on the second link option i.e- Skip this step, to complete the process.
After completing the above steps, you could remove your Microsoft account.
Check your Digital License is linked or not
You can also verify that your digital license is linked to your Microsoft account or not. To check, you have to follow these simple steps:
Step 1. Go to the Settings.
Step 2. Click on the ‘Update & Security’ option.
Step 3. Then click on Activation in the left-hand menu.
Now, you can find out whether your account is linked or not. See the image.
Additionally, you can also sign-in to your Microsoft account using the web browser present on your system and navigate to the device section. If your computer is listed here, it means the license is linked to your account.
